Crime Junkie is examining the brutal murder of David Carter, who the police suspect was murdered and butchered by his girlfriend, Tamera “Tammy” Williams, who had been on the run now for over five years.
The 39-year-old Carter, a father of a 16-year-old daughter, vanished from Melvindale, Michigan, at the beginning of October 2018.
According to his family, his girlfriend Williams hadn’t left his side in the six months they were dating, but now, she claimed to have no knowledge of his whereabouts.
In mid-October, Carter’s dismembered remains were found in garbage bags scattered along the I-75 near Hancock, Ohio.
The US Marshals later described what had happened to Carter as “horrible, it’s brutal” and said the killer was not a normal person.
The cops began to suspect Williams was involved, but she fled Michigan as soon as she got wind that they were on to her. The investigators believe the suspect took a train from Ann Arbor and ended up in Brooklyn, New York, but they lost track of her after that. Williams had never been in trouble with the law before this murder.

Williams has now been on the run for over five years. She has worked in the medical field and as a travel agent and is thought to be a fairly savvy world traveler.
Watch the Latest on our YouTube ChannelShe is also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an organization with links to the Freemasons that has members all over the country. The police fear members of this group may be inadvertently helping Williams without realizing she is a fugitive.
US Marshals Director Ronald L. Davis said in a statement, “Tamera Williams stands accused of a heinous, brutal crime. Her apprehension is our highest priority, and the family of David Carter deserves justice. I strongly encourage anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to do the right thing and contact us so we can get her into custody as quickly and as safely as possible.”

Williams is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs approximately 190 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She is now 44. She has a distinctive tattoo of six large roses on her left shoulder.
The cops say she should be considered armed and dangerous.
This horrific case has been featured on multiple TV shows, including ID’s In Pursuit with John Walsh, Netflix’s Unsolved Mysteries, and Fox’s America’s Most Wanted.
The US Marshals placed Williams on their 15 Most Wanted Fugitives list and are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for any information leading to her arrest.
