In Pursuit with John Walsh is on the hunt for Dylan Harrington, who is wanted on suspicion of killing David Covey and Gerlyn Covey at their property near Chesaw in Okanogan County, Washington.

On February 15, 2022, Covey family members asked the Okanogan Sheriff’s Office to perform a welfare check on 80-year-old David and 66-year-old Gerlyn.

The couple had traveled from their home in Omak, WA, to their second property near Chesaw, but their family became concerned when they failed to hear from them.

The deputies became suspicious when they located a car belonging to the Coveys at the property, but there was no sign of the couple.

The cops conducted a search of the property and surrounding area using volunteers, drones, and rescue teams, and eventually, their bodies were discovered under a piece of plywood. The couple had been shot and burned.

The police believe that Dylan Harrington, an experienced outdoorsman, was likely responsible for the killings, and he has been on the run ever since.

Police spotted Dylan Harrington while searching for David and Gerlyn Covey

Twice during the search for the Coveys, the police spotted a man they believed was Harrington, and both times, he ran away from the deputies. In a statement, the police said they did not apprehend the suspect during the search because they had no reason to do so under Washington state law.

The cops performed a search of a cabin they allegedly saw Harrington running away from and found personal items belonging to the Covey couple and two of their dogs.

Harrington is 5-foot-9, around 145 pounds, white, and has brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing an older green camouflage jacket and dark pants.

Dylan Harrington is an experienced outdoorsman who can live off the land

The cops have stressed that Harrington is “known to live off the land” and can likely survive in extremely remote areas without any assistance. He is likely armed and highly dangerous.

Anyone who spots the suspect is advised not to approach him but to immediately contact the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office at (509) 422-7232 option 4 or the United States Marshals Service at 1-877-926-8332.

There is a reward of $10,000 for any information that leads to his capture.

In December 2023, the police in Ponderay, Idaho, announced a “possible” sighting of him in the city. However, there has been no sign of him since.

In Pursuit with John Walsh airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on Investigation Discovery.
