Still A Mystery investigates the murders of Trevor Baldwin and Bryanna Gentry: 2 seemingly innocent victims

This week Still A Mystery is looking at two baffling murders, where seemingly innocent victims were shot to death for no apparent reason.

Trevor Baldwin was found shot to death at the wheel of his car in Chesapeake, Virginia, in 2014, and Bryanna Gentry was shot dead in her boyfriend’s home in the Detroit suburb of River Rouge in Michigan in 2019.

The murder of Trevor Baldwin

On September 30, 2014, Melinda Baldwin began to wonder why her 20-year-old son, Trevor, had not yet returned home.

She then received the worst possible news a mother would ever want when the police in Chesapeake phoned to say they’d found her son’s dead body.

Trevor’s car was discovered slammed into a tree; his body was still in the driver’s seat where he’d been shot to death.

There was a long list of suspects and at least 12 eyewitnesses to the killing, which has led Baldwin to wonder why there have been no arrests, despite the murder taking place nearly six years ago.

Baldwin believes that Trevor was set up by a girl who wanted to see him robbed, but it went badly wrong, leading to his death.

The Chesapeake police claim that there have been delays to the case because the lead detective retired. This was then followed by a restructuring of the cold case unit. However, they say the investigation remains active.

The family is offering a reward of $8,000 for any information that might lead to the capture of Trevor’s killer.

The murder of Bryanna Gentry

Bryanna Gentry was a 26-year-old single mother of a 5-year-old son. She was ambitious, having recently graduated as an esthetician she hoped to open a shop of her own. She also had high hopes for her young son.

On the evening of February 19, 2019, she had initially planned to head north from Detroit to visit grandparents but then changed her mind and decided to stay with her boyfriend in River Rouge.

At approximately 7 PM that evening, somebody burst into the home and shot both Bryanna and her boyfriend. He survived his injuries, but Bryanna did not. Thankfully, her son, who had been asleep in a nearby room, was left unharmed.

According to Bryanna’s family, her boyfriend is refusing to cooperate with the police. Her father said, “He will not tell the police who did this and, as far as we know, he’s currently in hiding.”

There is a reward of $2,500 for any information leading to the arrest of Bryanna’s killers.

Both murders remain unsolved.

Previously the team looked at the bizarre murder of Police Officer Jason Ellis, who was ambushed by a gunman as he drove from a late-night shift. They also looked at the death of Jonathan Crews, who’s girlfriend claims he tried to declare his love for her by shooting himself.
