Snapped: Killer Couples is examing the murder of Kenneth Bunn, who was killed by Nadya Swartz and Justin Hooker in a secluded spot in Murray County, Georgia.

On March 16, 2020, four fishermen traveled from Tennessee to do some fishing along the Conasauga River when they encountered the remains of 27-year-old Kenneth Bunn. He had been shot four times, including once in the head with a .22 caliber revolver.

The police initially struggled to identify the remains as there was no ID, and the killers had stolen the young man’s cell phone. However, it took only four days for the Murray County cops, assisted by the GBI, to identify Swartz and Hooker, both aged 21, as the killers.

Bunn had been in a relationship with Swartz about a year before he died. Swartz got together with Hooker when the couple split, but there seemed to be a lot of animosity between the trio.

Hooker had previously threatened to kill Bunn, and two days before the murder, he purchased a .22 caliber revolver from a family member.

Swartz later admitted to luring Bunn to a secluded spot near a bridge over the Conasauga River. The cops believe Bunn thought Swartz wanted to get back together.

The police identified the murderous couple when Bunn’s family remembered he’d said he was meeting Swartz, and Hooker’s relative contacted the cops to say they’d sold him the firearm.

The murder weapon was never recovered, but surveillance footage from a convenience store appeared to show Hooker disposing of the shell casing. He later admitted to dumping the gun in a dumpster in Dalton, GA.

Nadya Swartz and Joshua Hooker confessed to Kenneth Bunn murder

On her arrest, Swartz confessed to coming up with the idea to lure Bunn to his death. Hooker continued to deny involvement after his arrest, but he did tell a fellow inmate that he had killed Bunn in self-defense. However, he later changed his mind, admitting to cold-blooded murder.

In the end, both Swartz and Hooker pleaded guilty to murder and were sentenced to life in prison. They will be eligible for parole after serving a minimum of 30 years.
