Snapped is investigating the brutal murder of Jamie Faith, who was gunned down outside his home by Darrin Ruben Lopez, who had been manipulated into the crime by Jamie’s wife, Jennifer Lynne Faith.
On October 9, 2020, Jamie and Jennifer exited their home in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas to walk their dog. Almost immediately, Darrin Lopez, an Iraq War veteran, ran up to Jamie and shot him seven times. Lopez then attempted to steal Jennifer’s rings before fleeing in a pickup truck.
Jennifer played the role of a grieving widow; she appealed to the public for help catching her husband’s killer, and she enjoyed the aid given by friends and neighbors. She also helped herself to $60,000 from a GoFundMe page.
However, Jennifer had orchestrated the murder herself. Lopez was an old high school sweetheart, and the pair reconnected online during the pandemic.
Lopez was living in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, and was recently divorced. He began a long-distance affair with Jennifer, and the pair started discussing a future together.
Jennifer then began telling Lopez that Jamie was abusing her. She took stock images of injuries from the internet and attached them to emails to Lopez.

Jennifer even created a fake email address, claiming to be her friend Rob, and suggested that Lopez email Rob to discuss what to do about the abuse. Lopez seemed totally unaware that Jennifer was manipulating him.
Watch the Latest on our YouTube ChannelEventually, Jennifer suggested that Lopez kill her husband. He drove from Tennessee to Oak Cliff to murder Jamie and then went home.
Lopez’s black Nissan Titan pickup truck had a distinctive T sticker on the window, and Jennifer went public asking people to look out for the T sticker. At the same time, she messaged Lopez, telling him to remove the sticker.
Jennifer deleted all her phone messages and emails to Lopez, but the cops found his details on her phone. When they searched his property, they found the truck and the murder weapon. Lopez was arrested in January 2021 and charged with murder.
In the meantime, the investigators learned that Jennifer had claimed over $600,000 in life insurance from Jamie’s employer, American Airlines.

In February 2021, Jennifer was charged with obstruction of justice. In September, the charge was changed to murder for hire, and she was potentially facing the death penalty. She chose to plead guilty and was given a life sentence.
Lopez was put on trial in July 2023. On the stand, he claimed he felt pain and anguish after learning he had killed an innocent man. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to 62 years.
