Lethally Blonde on ID is examining the murder of John Paul “JP” Kelso, who was shot dead by Timothy Boham, a former porn star who shot and robbed Kelso while working as an escort.

Boham, who had a career in modeling as well as pornography and went by the name Marcus Allen, killed Kelso at the latter’s home in a well-to-do neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. At the time, Boham was earning $1,500 to $2,000 a night working as an escort for both sexes.

The 43-year-old Kelso was found lying in a bathtub by his housekeeper on November 13, 2006. He had likely been dead for up to two days.

Boham was arrested three days later at the US-Mexico border in Lukeville, Arizona.

The cops learned that Boham had confessed to his mother and his sister about the murder before he fled the state. Boham subsequently admitted to the killing during a videotaped police interview.

Kelso and Boham had known each other for about a year, during which time Kelso had paid his killer for sex and had even briefly hired him to work for his debt recovery firm.

The killer told the cops that he stole Kelso’s safe because he thought there was up to $400,000 in cash stashed there. He reportedly wanted to take his pregnant girlfriend to a beach somewhere. Boham used a power saw to open the safe, but it contained only car titles.

Incredibly, the killer backtracked on the confession and tried to claim Kelso had committed suicide. Boham said Kelso had conspired with him to make his death look like a murder because his life insurance policy would not pay out if he committed suicide.

At one point during the trial, Boham also told the court he was possessed “by a spirit who told me to shoot” Kelso.
